In 1984, Patrick Neher was appointed to the faculty of the Univeristy of Arizona, where he has held the position since. As an avant garde professor and soloist, Patrick Neher has established a solid reputation, resulting in invitations around the world to give master classes, clinics, and solo performances. |
The performance repertory of Patrick Neher includes works of all eras. The music of: Bach, Marcello, Galliard, Handel, Telemann, DeFesch, Vivaldi, Sperger, Hoffmeister, Dittersdorf, Pichl, Mozart, Bottesini, Luigi Negri, Dvorak, Beethoven, Hertl, Horky, Misek, Hindemith, Persichetti, Marcel Bitsch, Alfred Desenclos, Jon Deak, Bertram Turetzky, Frank Proto, Teppo Hauta-aho, Francois Rabbath, Julia Smith, Julio Estrada, Steven Mosko, David Anderson, Efram Kurtz, Colin Seamarks, and Paul Barsom are but a few of the representative composers that make up the sonatas, concertos, and concert pieces that Prof. Neher has always ready to present. In addition, Neher has written more that 30 compositions for the double bass from which a selection is often included in his programs. Neher is also an improvisational artist. His programs often include works such as Dance in the Clouds, Gjauticurratefiticus in Term in al Aie, Chatrooms, and Duo Éclatant, each being entirely improvisational or having improvisation as a strong componant.
